The proposition

The study began with research into decoding whale communication, and with one observation from it: where and how a call is produced can matter to conservation science as much as the sound itself. A recording tells you what was said. A position tells you who said it, to whom, and from how far.

The faceted geodesic body gives a fixed, known array geometry — the geometry is the instrument — while staying light enough to carry on a strap for a long day in the field.

This is drawing, form development and a value-proposition study for wildlife research and environmental monitoring bodies. It has not been built or bench-tested, and is presented as what it is.
